Having repeatedly got fed up with admin policies at various forums in Hong Kong, I’ve finally got round to setting this place up as somewhere to share thoughts with anyone who cares to listen and, I hope, trigger some intelligent and rational discussion, free from censorship and pandering to political correctness.
Or, if certain people are correct, I’ll just sit here and watch the tumbleweed roll by.
I’ll also put up occasional reviews of bars, restaurants, films, arty things and stuff like that.

surely you are doing what you said you disliked about other places???
No not at all – it’s just the same as registering – now that I’ve approved one comment from you you can post as many as you like using the same Name and email address. Obviously that isn’t foolproof in that anyone guessing the email address you quoted could pretend to be you, but the alternatives are allowing anyone to comment, which will result in a load of spambot comments (I got the first attempt within two hours of the blog being created), or insisting on a registration and login (which will deter a lot of people who don’t have logins at wordpress). I’m open to modifying this mechanism as we go along if it isn’t working well.
Actually, on reflection, I’ve just taken off the “must have one approved comment” requirement. You’ll still need to input an email address when posting a comment, but it won’t be accessible to anyone except me. Let’s see how that goes.

Its OK saying what you want on a forum as long as its within context.
Like I have said many times before, I really don’t mind what happens on HKExpats, I am more worried that we will get classified as an adult site due to the content and then get blocked by company proxy servers.
All that will do is stop people accessing the web due to swear words or links to content that maybe should be on other more adult oriented sites anyway.
